Join this Rail Wellbeing Live session organised by Apeksha Naik and hosted by Odis Palmer, both of our DFTO Industry Inclusion and Belonging Leads and Co-Chairs of Rail Unites for Inclusion.
This diverse panel will discuss the impact on LGBTQ+ wellbeing from the rise of the right wing and associated increase in bi-, homo-, and transphobia on social media, as well as the April 2025 Supreme Court ruling regarding sex v gender. They will explore the potential lifelong impact on wellbeing of growing up LGBTQ+ and the added pressure of working in an industry that remains predominantly heterosexual, cisgender, male, and white. The panel will close with insights and strategies to improve mental and physical health for LGBTQ+ people in the industry.
