Hindus in Rail are ending March on a high and stepping into April with purpose!

We’re incredibly proud to close March by announcing Hindus in Rail’s first Executive Sponsor — Nicole Jennings, Chief Delivery Officer, Rail Delivery Group. Nicole stepped into this role to help amplify the network’s voice across the wider rail industry and, crucially, turn purpose into visible action — building community through contribution, not isolation and ensuring inclusion and social mobility remain central to how we work and lead. Our activities and network continues to grow due to the active support and sponsorship delivered by her for a truly inclusive railway. But we’re nowhere near finished - As April begins, we’re bringing to you the first Hindus in Rail Blended Mentoring Scheme — a six‑month programme designed to support career progression and deepen cultural understanding across the sector. This programme blends traditional mentoring with reciprocal learning — helping mentees grow, progress and thrive, while supporting mentors to develop inclusive leadership capability and cultural insight.

• Benefits to the mentees - Focus on career development, safe space for honest discussion, Exposure to leadership thinking, Empowerment and representation, Stronger networks and cultural awareness.

• Benefits to the mentors - Mentors do not need prior knowledge of Hindu culture — openness to learning is the key requirement. Mentors can develop deepened cultural awareness, enhanced inclusive leadership capability, actively contribute towards building a diverse future pipeline in the railway.
